Lavender garden cardi
We’re only at the end of January, and lavender-flowers are far away!
I had to buy some small wax flowers for the photos… but as the lace-pattern was inspired by my Lavender-garden patterns for adults, (see below) I wanted to keep the name. The thought of true lavenders in a few months from now makes me dream…
My adult Lavender-garden patterns are on offer:

Design and construction
This classic little cardigan features lace-pattern of the lower body and also the sleeve cuffs, a crew-neck, button-bands, and raglan-decreases for a great fit of the upper body.
I worked the cardigan using two colours; it might as well be worked in one colour only.
The cardigan is worked bottom-up. The lower body is worked flat, and the sleeves are worked in-the-round. The upper body is worked in one piece, with raglan-decreases. The neckline and button-bands are worked from picked-up sts.
Sizes
Chest circumference, when buttoned: Newborn – 3 months: 40 cm/15.75” 3 – 6 months: 44 cm/17.5 9 months: 49 cm/19.25” 1 year to 18 months: 53 cm/21” 2 years: 58 cm/23” 3 – 4 years: 63 cm/25” 5 – 6 years: 67 cm/26.5”
Materials
I used the light fingering weight “Trekking” from Zitron to work the cardigan. I recommend any light fingering weight/fingering weight yarn that knits up to gauge.
Yardage of MC (grey): 195/220/245/265/295/320/385 m = 212/240/267/288/321/348/420 yards. Yardage of CC (pink): 155/180/195/215/235/260/315 m = 169/196/212/234/256/283/343 yards.
Total yardage, if 1 colour used: 350/400/440/480/530/580/700 m = 381/436/479/523/577/632/763 yards. Needles: Choose needle size to obtain gauge. I used needle size 3 mm/US2.5, this is a suggestion only.
Gauge
26 sts and 36 rows/rounds in stockinette/lace-pattern
