The Lavender Linen Lace Shawl is a basic triangle started at the point and worked toward the larger end. This pattern may look difficult, but it is a good example of a lace pattern that is repetitive, builds on itself, and is easy to memorize and work. It is interesting to watch the progression as one set of leaves ends and another set begins. The linen in this shawl is a wonderful weight for wearing in the summer. The crispness of the yarn gives a very distinct look to the leaves. You could knit the shawl in wool or any other fiber, changing its look completely. A warm, fall-coloured yarn like gold or persimmon would give the leaves more an autumn than a spring look.
