Lavender Lore Sock
This pattern was inspired by lavender in all shapes and forms.
The Lavender lore is associated with love, spirituality, creative expression and individuality. Those are all things very dear to my heart.
The herb, on the other hand, is thought to be calming, balances strong emotions and helps with anxiety. The same are true for knitting.
As for the color – it’s absolutely stunning. All those things combined have formed this sock pattern in my mind and I found it to be the perfect relaxing knit to calm your nerves.
The pattern is pretty straight forward and the lace detail consists of 3 techniques apart from knit stitches (yarn over, knit 2 together and slip 1 as if to knit, knit 1, pass slipped stitch over) which makes it perfect for beginners that are looking to expand their skills.
This is the first pattern from the Lamiaceae collection. It includes (in order of difficulty):
Lavender Lore
Mint Myth (to be published)
Basil Babble (to be published)
Sage Superstition (to be published).
Each pattern is a little bit more complex than the one before taking you from a lace “beginner” to a lace “pro”.
