Crotat is mix between crochet and tatting. you need Crotat Hook (I use Prym ones) because the head of the hook is smaller than the shank and this will make it easier to work. Little bits of cotton thread are needed. If you use other thread : take a hook smaller than indicated on the label of your ball or skein of cotton. I often use perlé, and also the little skeins of embroidery thread. As long as your yarn is smooth, it ‘ll go.

Frivolité au crochet : vous aurez besoin d’un crochet ‘crotat’ - j’utilise ceux de Prym que vous trouverez ici : www.jeudemailles.com . Ces crochets ont la tête plus fine que la tige et une tige bien plus longue qu’un crochet normal.
Si vous prenez un fil plus épais, prenez toujours le crotat-crochet d’une taille inférieure à ce qui est indiqué sur l’étiquette du fil. Je travaille beaucoup avec des échevettes du fil broderie. Du moment que votre fil de coton est lisse (pas le mouliné 6fils par ex.) vous aurez un bon résultat.
