Lawrence the Lamb
I’ve made Lawrence the lamb using a super chunky #6 weight plush yarn. This is ideal for a big soft and huggable toy and is a pretty quick make. He is 13 inches long and 6.5 inches tall (when made with the recommended materials).
The 12 page pattern is intermediate skill level and is available in US and UK terminology – both versions will be available for you to download. It is clear to follow with detailed instructions and lots of pictures for step by step making and assembly. There is also an adjustment for using non-plush yarn as well as picture instructions for colour change, back loop only, mini bobble and bobble stitch.
The following stitches/techniques are used in this pattern:
US Terminology - slip stitch, single crochet, double crochet, mini-bobble and bobble stitch, increase, decrease (sc2tog), colour change, back loop only
UK Terminology - slip stitch, double crochet, treble, mini-bobble and bobble stitch, increase, decrease (dc2tog), colour change, back loop only
Recommended Materials:
- Yarn: I have made Lawrence using Premier Parfait Chunky (super chunky weight plush yarn) - colour and weight details in pattern
- Hook: 5mm (H) crochet hook
- Stuffing: I use polyester filling
- Safety eyes: I have used 15mm plastic safety eyes, but you can embroider the eyes on if you prefer
- Large yarn needle
- Pins
- (A stitch marker and row counter are useful)
- A small amount of black Aran yarn for the nose, smile and cloven hooves; Aran yarn for the (optional) scarf - around 10g
(This pattern is for personal use only, not to be resold or rewritten in any way. I am happy for you to sell the finished toy, but please credit the design to me.)
