More often than not I knit patterns that are interesting enough to keep my attention -- so they have levels of complication. I woke up one Sunday morning unable to confront all of my complicated knits -- I just wanted to knit stockinette stitch in the round. I meandered out to my Yarn Shack and found the yummiest yarn I had, in colors that I was not sure would work well but did, and just began knitting.

I am sharing my formula with you. If you want to make the striping sequence I used, please download the pattern.

Here is the formula:
Grab a 16” needle of appropriate size. Using a provisional cast on, fill the needle. Add your working yarn and start knitting. Create a striping sequence as you go. I used all four skeins and knit until I ran out of yarn -- saving enough to graft the two ends together.

This cowl used 2 skeins of Paloma, one skein of Arco Iris, and one skein of Archangel. The cowl uses all of the yarn.

You will need waste yarn and a crochet hook for the provisional cast on. If you need help with a provisional cast on, check out my video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKpRjkC5pkU This was originally shot for a Mystery Hat but has a clear explanation for the cast on.
