Add some color to your transitional wardrobe! This lightweight, drapey cardigan is the perfect way to dress up a pair of jeans on a chilly spring evening, or keep you comfortable in an over-air conditioned workplace. A wide vee neck and elbow length sleeves give the sweater an open, airy feel.

Worked from the bottom up in one piece, this sweater includes details like tidy, striped steeks and faux purl seams for a clean, polished look. Wide bands of twisted rib balance out the large quantities of colorwork, both in knitting and in wearing. A close fit is created by waist and raglan shaping, which makes this a classic cardigan that can be worn time and again.

The circular stranded colorwork motif that adorns this cardigan also gives the pattern its name; leadlights are decorative windows with simple, geometric designs, similar in construction and concept to their more ornate cousin, stained glass.
