This hat was inspired by the thousands of people that arrive to my little mountain town to view the gorgeous colors of fall. We affectionately call them the leaf lookers. Cozy up with your favorite worsted weight yarn and a cup of spiced cider to knit a hat for yourself or someone you love.

This design is knit in the round from the bottom up. It includes yarnovers and decreases to create a simple yet beautiful pattern from the brim to the crown. The stretchy nature of this pattern makes it pretty much a one size fits all hat. For a child’s size hat knit the brim an inch or two shorter and knit the main body of the hat an inch or two shorter before beginning the decreases for the crown.

This hat can be knit from your favorite worsted weight yarn. The sample is shown in Cascade 220 in the #9694 Raspberry Wine colorway.
