Leaf River
I have seen many patterns for leaves pointing and running together in 1 direction and wanted a pattern where leaves ran opposite. I had also just learned I-cord and wanted to utilize that to make a sturdy edge that would endure time and twisting and tying, so Leaf River was born. A textured pattern with i-cord, garter, leaf motifs and bobbles to make a solid yarn visually interesting.
This pattern is easily adaptable - for a thinner, lighter scarf knit it in a lighter weight yarn. For a sturdier, thicker piece that could even be used as a table runner, knit in a bulkier yarn and add more background stitches to widen the center piece. You can add tassles at the ends or whatever embellishments your mind can come up with!
