Leaning Doors Poncho
This poncho is one long rectangle that gets folded in half and seamed. I found this stitch pattern in Melissa Leapman’s “The Knit Stitch Pattern Handbook” which is a collection of 300 fantastic stitch patterns. Check it out. The way the k2tog’s and ssk’s bias in opposite directions give this pattern its distinctive look. It is not hard to do. I have also included cast on numbers and yarn amounts to work this pattern as a shawl or scarf.
Note: I would like to clarify the assembly instructions. I realized I wasn’t clear enough. They should read:
Fold in half, with cast on and bind off edges next to each other. Starting at open end (not fold), sew one side edge together, leaving 10” open for neck. I have updated the PDF with this information as of 9/2/2014.
