The LEAP YEAR WRAP (published 2016) was designed as a SUPER scarf/wrap for a BULKY/CHUNKY yarn, & for design sample purposes, I double stranded sport weight to achieve the bulky look.

A chart is included for the cabled area of the design, which may be easily followed once you get into the rhythm of the simple pattern used in the side edges.

Full written instructions are also included, along with modification guidelines.

To knit it to the pattern measurements (below), you will need:

if using 1 strand of BULKY/CHUNKY yarn: approx 770m/842yds
if double stranding sport weight: approx 1540m/1684yds

WRAP MEASUREMENTS: 35cm (14”) W x 204cm (80”) L

A bonus COWL pattern was added to the document in 2022. This is knit using a light worsted weight on a 4.5mm needle, worked flat after a provisional cast on, & grafted together. There are 2 sizes given for the cowl.

SIZE 1: 27cm/10.6’’ H - 58cm/23’’ Circumference (approx 194m/212yds required)
SIZE 2: 27cm/10.6’’ H - 68cm/27’’ in Circumference (approx 230m/252yds required)

GAUGE:: 17sts-24 rows in stockinette.
