Leapfrog Coat
About the Design
The moment I saw this old, Pueblo frog motif, I was struck by it’s Art Deco feeling.
I’ve chosen just 2 main colors to present the image, whose graphic quality is enhanced by the limited color palette! Red is one of my favorite colors, and so I chose an earthy red, for the accent color.
The pattern wraps around the entire coat.
This coat is definitely designed for cold weather – with it’s deep (afterthought!) pockets, long collar that folds over or stands up with clasp closure, and snug cuffs, that not only are stranded, but also faced in the Nordic manner. Knit this in a bulky-weight Icelandic wool, and your warmth is assured!
