This pattern was written for a beginners’ knitting class. Rather than knitting a scarf as a first project which is the most common way to go, I started with this pillow cover.
The first side of the cover is written for the beginner knitter; the second side for the advanced beginner.
You may want to only knit up one square thus the difference in yardage needed (you need about 150 yards per square). If you only knit up one square, you can still make it into a pillow cover by sewing it together with a piece of material in the same size.
This pattern is easily adjusted to a smaller or larger pillow size.
