After designing a prototype of this vintage style leatherhead football helmet at the request of my husband 7 years ago, I’ve finally (finally!) finished the pattern!

Designed after the old style “leatherhead” football helmet, this cozy hat has a snug fit and warm earflaps.

Adult size is made with bulky weight yarn (2 skeins of Bernat Roving) and an H hook. One size fits most from teen to adult.

A toddler or child’s hat can be made with an Aran yarn (200 yards) and H or J hook. (Shown in Big Twist Yarns Premium)
