Leave No Trace: A Hiker's Yarn
I was inspired to use the web program Twine to write an interactive fiction. Some of my knitterly friends and I were discussing the idea of writing knitting patterns inspired by the principles of Leave No Trace. I decided to take a crack at combining these two inspirations in one.
This is a scarf project that uses about 440 yards of worsted weight yarn on 5mm needles. It is recommended that you make your joins between skeins of yarn at the edges of the work rather than in the middle. Once blocked and knit as written, the final product is about 70” long. You can make it longer by knitting additional repeats of sections. You can turn it into an infinity scarf by doing a provisional cast on plus two rows of stockinette instead of Cast on A or B, and finishing with two rows and a kitchener stitch to join the ends. It is a choose your own knitting adventure after all!
