This pattern is available from kulabradesign.com for $6.00.

If you have always wanted to knit a visually intricate colorwork, but was afraid of stranding, this design is for you. This pattern uses slipped stitches with decreases & increases. Only one color is used per row. You can make anything rectangular, like a scarf or a wrap, with just leaves throughout; or you can alternate the leaves panels with plain zigzag pattern. Or, for example, you can knit the edges of the scarf with leaves (for 1/3 of the length), and work the middle 1/3 in zigzag.

Materials: Circular needles (3.0 or 3.5mm),

and fingering-weight yarn in at least two highly contrasting colors,

400 m / 100g each (for a scarf 3-4 repeats wide, about 1.5 – 1.7 meters long).

For the wrap, double that amount.

You can use two solid colorways, or solid and gradient.

Gauge: one leaves repeat is about 8 sm wide, and 4.5 cm tall.
