Leaves cowl
Techniques used: Stranded Knitting in the round, Italian Cast-on, Ladder Back Jacquard. All used techniques are well explained in the pattern.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
The LEAVES COWL is worked top down and in the round. At one point stitches are increased on both sides of the cowl to increase the circumference for a better fit.
As for the colors: the design is inspired by ‘eco-printing’, a process where the natural colors of plants and leaves are soaked into a
cloth. If you want an authentic and natural look use an off white and green with a yellowish undertone.

SPECIAL TECHNIQUES
LADDER BACK JACQUARD
Since there are long distances between the leaves sometimes, this technique is a great way to catch the floats on the backside of the work without any visible
disturbance in the front. I have used this technique only for the MC. You can highlight a few columns in your chart to indicate for yourself where you want to
pick up the extra stitches. This cowl pattern might be a good opportunity to learn this technique because and it is
really worth trying.
