work in the round (continuous spirals. I like circular knitting needles, they make things simpler.)
increases (invisible or otherwise)
stitches: knit, purl, yarn over, decrease, increase
sew openings close, sew parts together (join parts)

Soft, smooth acrylic worsted weight yarn
Or Wool Worsted Weight Yarn
(4) Size #6 double pointed needles
OR (1) Size #6 sixteen inch circular knitting needles
