Leentjes Shoulder Warmer
This design was born out of necessity : I needed something to keep my shoulders warm but leave my neck, arms and lower back free, and most of all : stay in place, even when I walk around and move a lot.
These ‘design features’ made it basically fall out of any classic category or in between several of them. Its basically a small Ruana (Square stole with a split), or a tabard with an open front.
It can be made from any yarn you like in any stitch you like. The pattern describes it in more detail in a blanket stitch with an 8 mm hook and worsted weight yarn made for 6 mm hook, but can easly be adapted for any yarn or hook desired. Its more a recipe then a pattern.
Quick and easy pattern for beginners. Makes the perfect throw/shoulder warmer for people in a wheelchair, as it can be put on and off while sitting and/or by a second person. It also just covers the shoulders, so it won’t get stuck or in the way or limit arm movements.
