Leeward Cowl
NOTES
The “Lee Cowl” looks good worn on either side, and because of that, I did not simply pick up the yarns from the previous rounds while switching colors. Instead, I cut the yarn leaving a tail and started the round with a new portion. Once finished knitting the project, I weaved in and secured the tails within the work. It’s extra work, but so worth it!
This entire piece will be worked in the round.
MEASUREMENTS
10” wide laid flat, and 5” long. You can knit additional stripes for a longer cowl.
NEEDLES AND NOTIONS
-Circular needles in size 9 (5.5 mm)
-Two skeins of bulky yarn- I used Sirdar’s Sublime Phoebe. This project requires roughly 63 yards of the main color, and 53 yards of the contrasting color.
-One stitch marker
-A tapestry needle to weave in tails, and a scissors
