This is a diagonal patterned scarf. The scarf is constructed with garter stitch sections joined by short rows and with picked up stitches so that the direction of knitting changes with each section. The pattern was designed to use fingering weight self-striping yarn with long sections of color, such as Knit Picks Felici.
