Leftover Hearts
Fanny Pack / crossbody “Leftover Harts” was born from scraps of yarn.
The “Leftover Harts” pdf includes:
- introduction to mosaic crochet.
- written instructions
- support video links
- chart/ diagram with X.
Abbreviations (US terms):
St -stitch/stitches
SSt -slip stitch
CH - chain stitch
SC - single crochet
DC -double crochet
The size varies by the number of squares you make, the yarn you use and your gauge.
For my child size Fanny pack I made 4 squares and it is approximately 28 cm wide and 9 cm height. Each square is 9 x 9 cm large, according to the patterns gauge (26 st & 11 rnds for 9 cm).
There is also the adult version explained for this pattern and the size of the finished product varies according to the yarn and hooks used and personal gouge. 2 examples:
- 4 squares( using a 2.75 hook and worsted or aran yarn, the size of the purse will be approx. 10 inches wide and 5.5 inches high
- 16 squares (48 cm wide and 16 cm height) worked with light yarn(2.5 mm crochet hook)
- 4 squares ( 48 cm wide and 16 cm height) using worsted yarn and a 4/5 mm crochet hook .
The squares are worked from the center out, in the round and then joined together with slip stitches.
