The scrunchie is a practical, stylish, and playful hair accessory. Knitted scrunchies are a perfect way to use up leftover yarn, as they require minimal material and can be made in a variety of colors and textures. The scrunchie is knitted in the round on circular needles and sewn together with an elastic in the middle once it reaches the desired size.

Suggested Needles: 6 mm circular needles, 40 cm (or 80/100 cm if using the Magic Loop technique)

What You’ll Need:

Leftover yarn! For the smallest scrunchie, I used only 13g of yarn, and for the largest, 43g. So this is a great stash-busting project.

Elastic thread or a hair tie. The advantage of using elastic thread instead of a pre-made hair tie is that you can adjust the tightness to your preference.

Tapestry needle for sewing.
