Leg Warmers
These balletcore-inspired leg warmers are perfect for post-workout warmth or everyday styling. Features a slouchy fit, tailored ribbing and instructions for plain or cabled options.
Uses 4 ply / fingering weight yarn and comes in five sizes.
Constructed from the bottom up and includes a tapered top edge for the perfect fit.
Tools Needed
2.5 mm (US1.5) and 3 mm (US2.5) circular needles (or size needed to obtain gauge) with a 40 cm / 16” cord or DPNs.
Plus a cable needle (if making the Cabled version), cute little scissors, one stitch marker and a yarn needle.
Gauge
Plain Leg Warmers = 28 sts x 36 rows in 10 cm / 4” of stockinette stitch
Cabled Leg Warmers = 5 cm wide in cable repeat pattern
Sizing
Finished circumf: 35 (40, 45) (50, 55) cm / 13.75 (15.75, 17.75) (19.75, 21.75)“
Recommend ease varies depending on the Cabled vs Plain options. The Cabled Leg Warmers tend to look more bulky due to the textured fabric, even though the warmers are the same circumference as the Plain ones so I’ve amended the ease to account for this.
Plain Leg Warmers: 0-6 cm / 0-2.25” of positive ease
Cabled Leg Warmers: 3 cm / 1.25” of negative ease to 3 cm / 1.25” of positive ease
Meterage / Yardage
Plain: 560 (640, 720) (800, 880) metres / 611 (700, 786) (875, 960) yards
Cabled: 726 (830, 935) (1038, 1140) / 795 (908, 1020) (1135, 1248) yards
They use a lot of yarn due to the generous length for lots of slouch but, if desired, you can reduce the amount used by shortening the Leg Warmers and having less fabric at the ankle.
