Lehmusten kaupunki is a double layered beanie. It has a smooth and soft lining knitted with merino yarn and a gorgeous lace knitted with a delicate silk mohair outside. The pattern has 3 sizes: designed for 20.5/22/23.5 in (52/56/60 cm) head circumference. The beanie is to be knitted (with magic loop/in the round) in one piece starting with at the crown of the lining. The lace is knitted with thinner yarn and looser gauge (compared to the stockinette part) to make it delicate and light.

You need:
Yarn A: fingering weight (= about 440 yd/3.2 oz = 400 m/100 g) merino yarn. You need about 164 - 230 yd (150 - 210 m).
and
Yarn B: lace weight (= about 220 yd/0.8 oz = 200 m/25 g) silk mohair yarn. You need about 98 - 120 yd (90 - 110 m).
Notice:
I recommend colors with high contrast for the lace pattern to be more visible.
Size 2 (3.0 mm) circular needles or the size needles you reach the right gauges (see below)
One stitch marker to mark the beginning of row.

Gauge:
26 ST/40 rows per 4 in (10 cm) in stockinette using yarn A (one strand, not doubled)
22 ST/38 rows per 4 in (10 cm) in lace pattern using yarn B (one strand, not doubled)

Lehmusten kaupunki on kaksinkerroin taitettava pipo, jossa on sileää neuletta oleva sisempi puoli pehmeästä merinosta ja sen päällä kaunis silkkimohairista neulottava pitsikerros. Ohjeessa on kolme kokoa (noin 52/56/60 cm päänympäryksille), ja pipo neulotaan magic loop -tekniikalla/pyöröneuleena kokonaan yhtenä kappaleena aloittaen sisemmän osan päälaelta. Pitsi neulotaan ohuemmalla langalla ja väljemmällä tiheydellä verrattuna sileään osaan, jotta siitä tulee keveä ja herkkä.

Tarvitset:
Lanka A: fingering-vahvuista (fingering-vahvuus = noin 400 m/100 g) merinolankaa, menekki noin 150 - 210 m.
ja
Lanka B: pitsivahvuista (pitsivahvuus = noin 200 m/25 g) silkkimohairia, menekki noin 90 - 110 m.
HUOM:
Suosittelen valitsemaan värit, joiden välillä on reilusti kontrastia, jotta pitsikuvio erottuu kunnolla.
3.0 mm pyöröpuikot (tai koko, jolla saavutat oikeat tiheydet)
Silmukkamerkki merkitsemään kerroksen vaihtumista.
