A few years ago I was called out to photograph the birth of a baby boy with a congenital heart defect who would be held in his parents’ arms for only days before he passed away. Around a year or so later I was called again by this family, this time to photograph their daughter who was full-term but born still. So when I got a call this week from the family again, I nervously answered the voicemail to learn that these wonderful people now had a perfectly healthy little girl. I was in the process of making this sweater when I got that call and found it entirely fitting that I name this new sweater after this very special little one.
