Skill Level: Intermediate (Requires knowledge of sl st, sc, and hdc, and working in the front and back loop only. Knowledge of working in the 3rd lp is helpful, but not required).

Size: When laid flat, tote measures 14”/35.5cm across and just over 16”/41 cm tall. For a larger tote, feel free to use Super Bulky (#6) yarn and a larger hook size.

Materials:

  • Tote Yarn: About 350 yards/320m of Bulky (#5) yarn. I used Lion Brand Rewind in Willow for my tote.

  • Accent Yarn: About 50 yards/46m of any DK (#3) or Worsted (#4) weight yarn for the tassel and wrapping the handles (optional). I used Premier Cotton Sprout Speckles in Fruit Punch (DK weight).

Tools:

  • Size J (6mm) Crochet Hook, or size to obtain correct gauge

  • Yarn needle and scissors

  • 4 stitch markers
