Lemmata make up part of the head, or spikelet, of stalk of wheat. Lemmata (or lemmas) enclose the floret, keeping the kernel of wheat safe as it grows. The shape and form of wheat heads came to mind while knitting this twisted-stitch textured motif. The twist and pull of the stitches make this cozy neck-hugging cowl look like a field of Alberta wheat. Grow your own with this pattern!
