This pattern has been test knit. However please feel free to contact me if you find any problems within the pattern.

The cable element of this sock reminds me of the infinity symbol, which is also known as a lemniscate. This pattern provides instructions and charts for the sock to be knit toe up & cuff down. I decided to do this because the stitch pattern will look pretty either way, and I know there are people who rather one method over the other. Another interesting feature is there is only one chart to follow, which incorporates both sizes and works for both toe up and cuff down!

Size: Two sizes S/M(M/L)

  • Women’s S/M 8” unstretched 64 stitches (Cuff) With stitch pattern; 80 stitches around the leg and 74 around the foot.
  • Women’s M/L 10” unstretched 72 stitches (Cuff) With stitch pattern; 88 stitches around the leg and 80 around the foot.

Notes are also included for people with a bigger calf

Skills needed:
Following charted lace and cabled patterns (no written instructions provided for charts), working in the round, short row shaping using the wrap and turn (w&t) method.

Yarn requirements:
Any 100g (410-400m) sock yarn you wish to use, however I would suggest a semi solid or solid yarn as anything with too much variation and you will lose the pattern.

Needle Requirements: 2.25mm (or size to match gauge) long circular for magic loop or DPN’s if desired & cable needle. The pattern is written with circular needles in mind but easily adapted for 3 or 4 DPN’s. 3 stitch markers are needed for the cuff down version.

Gauge: 32 stitches to 48 rows using 2.25mm over 4”/10cm in stocking stitch, worked in the round.
