Lemon Wedge
This pattern is a very quick and simple project for knitting up a citrus wedge.
Using size US 6 (4.0 mm) and worsted weight yarn makes for a wedge measuring 3” high. The rind is knitted flat, while the flesh portion CAN be worked in the round to reduce sewing. A small amount of basic embroidery is applied to the flesh portion, which is then stitched to the rind.
GAUGE:
Different size needles and yarn can be substituted. Gauge is not important so long as there is consistency between yarn weights. You can adjust the length of the rind portion by reducing or increasing the number of straight rows by one or two if the gauges don’t align exactly.
SKILLS:
Basic knitting technique, with simple increases, decreases, and seaming. The majority of the project is knitted flat, with a small portion suitable for knitting in the round. Kitchener stitch optional.
