One of my children’s favourite animals to visit at the zoo are the Madagascan Ring Tailed Lemurs. The captivating creatures with their graphic striped tail are much loved in our house; and now the children can have a cardigan with lemur-tail sleeves!

Lemur Cardigan comes written in 16 sizes (from small newborn to approximately 10 years of age), and is written for 8ply/DK weight yarn.

CONSTRUCTION
Lemur Cardigan has you cast on at the neckline, and work flat forming a rounded garter neck line, before working the plain fronts and back, plus striped upper sleeves all in one piece, until you reach the required chest size. From here the arm stitches are put on to waste yarn (or a stitch holder), and the body finished. Once the body is completed, the sleeve stitches are returned to the needles and worked in the round.

SKILLS REQUIRED
backwards loop cast on
knitting small circumferences in the round
long tail cast on
short rows in garter stitch
working intarsia colourwork
working top down raglan construction
If you are not familiar with these techniques you may need to reference a knitting guide book, or view videos on the internet.
