This pattern is being released in weekly sections over the course of Lent 2023 - see below for details on how to join in!

Victoria Methodist Church in Bristol, UK is running another Lent Mystery Knitalong. Participants will receive weekly documents containing daily knitting clues and accompanying reflections/meditations written especially by Ministers and worship leaders from the Bristol area and beyond.

A Welcome letter (with a pattern for a practice swatch) will be available from the 1st February; the knitting clues will be released on the following dates:

Due to the mystery nature of the knitalong, photos of the completed scarf will not be added on this pattern page until Easter, so as not to spoil the surprise for those working on it!

This knitalong is very much a team effort; big thanks to the seven reflection writers, to Meg at No Frills Knitting for providing kits, to my lovely sister-in-law Louise for test-knitting, and most especially to Helen, our wonderful Admin Fairy, who has formatted all the documents in several versions (including more accessible formats) and manages the mailing list among several other jobs!

ERRATA: For those knitting the wider versions, please see below re row 77 (main pattern is unchanged)

Row 77 (which you’ll be knitting on Monday of week two) needs to be worked as in the main pattern, without adding the additional K12 (K24) inside the borders as you have been doing, i.e. get going on the (YO, K2tog) repeats from the 4th stitch, right up until the last 2 stitches!
