Inklings of Spring,
a cheery pattern that makes you long for spring days!

The wool reminded me of gras turning a brighter green and budding springflowers and that inspired this pattern. It had to become a shawl that can brighten up your day!

In the sample I used Latvian wool wool with a long color repeat, paired with Shetland wool. The Latvian wool is dyed in small batches and for every color combination there are only limited quantities available. This makes it very unlikely that you’ll be able to find the same colors as in the sample, but you can make your own combination of colors with Shetland wool or choose a different yarn with a long color repeat. You could think of Scheepjes Invicta Colour, Schoppel Zauberbal, Drops Delight or Kauni Effectyarn.

This is a pattern that requires some experience in stranded knitting. The pattern color needs to be carried across a large number of stitches, so you need to be able to keep a constant tension.

With this pattern you will find two color charts. One has the entire chart on one page. If you like to use your tablet when knitting, this chart can easily be imported in KnitCompanion. If you prefer a paper chart, you can print the enlarged chart and tape the parts together.

Gauge is not essential for this pattern

De wol die ik voor deze omslagdoek gebruikte, deed me denken aan het groener wordende gras en ontluikende lentebloemen en dat was de inspiratie voor dit patroon. Het moest een omslagdoek worden om vrolijk van te worden!

De omslagdoek wordt gemaakt door in te breien, ook wel bekend als de fair-isle techniek of stranded knitting. In het voorbeeld wordt gebruik gemaakt van Letse wol met een lang kleurverloop voor de achtergrond en Shetlandwol als patroonkleur. Maar je kunt ook je eigen kleurverloop maken met Shetlandwol of sokkenwol gebruiken met een lang kleurverloop. Kies de kleurencombinatie waar jij vrolijk van wordt!

Het is een patroon waarvoor je wel wat ervaring nodig hebt met inbreien. De patroonkleur moet over veel steken meegevoerd worden en dan is het belangrijk dat je de draadspanning gelijk kunt houden.

Je vind bij dit patroon twee keer het kleuren telschema. Eén keer staat het complete schema op één pagina. Als je graag vanaf je tablet breit, kun je deze makkelijk importeren in KnitCompanion. Gebruik je liever een papieren patroon? Dan kun je het uitvergrootte schema printen en aan elkaar plakken.
