Construction
This top down shawl is worked as a semi-circular design which begins with a garter tab cast-on.
The body of the shawl is classically worked increasing at the edge and in the middle panel of the shawl.
The lace border is worked perpendicular to the body of the shawl. This method was used for the lace shawls of the Shetland Islands or for the Estonian lace shawls.

Construction
Ce châle a une construction semi circulaire débutant par un montage provisonnel des mailles au point mousse.
Le corps du châle est travaillé traditionnellement en augmentant de manière régulière de part et d’autre de la partie centrale et en lisière du châle.
La partie dentelle se travaille perpendiculairement au corps du châle. Cette méthode était utilisée dans les îles Shetland pour agrémenter les châles d’une bordure en dentelle.
