Leonardo Da Vinci - Mona Lisa
From book: Leonardo painted this picture from 1503-1505 and kept it by him until his death. The enigmatic smile and the haunting rocky landscape give this work a sense of mystery. He has created and almost androgynous human being from what started out as a simple portrait of a Florentine lady.
That famous face has ben reconstructed in knitting using subtle hues. The pattern was drawn with “half-closed eyes” and shows how the relief of the features and be achieved with simple areas of color.
