Description

Lepo is simple dress with short sleeves, tubular bind off and small decoration at hem. The hem is longer at the back so it lies with the wind and gives coverage while sitting. Changing shoes and accessories makes it possible to wear this dress in several occasions, from cozy home dress to any celebration.

Lepo is knitted top down. Yoke starts with knitting back and forth. Once neckline is done, knitting continues as round knitting until short rows in the hem. Despite of simple look, there is something interesting happening all the time. After yoke, there are decreases before waist and then decreases almost until the hem. The front length of xx should be just above knees. The length of Lepo is 100cm (39inch) for all sizes. Pattern includes instructions for adapting the length shorter or longer. Pattern is technically edited and test knitted for sizes XS, L and XL.

Gauge

23sts x 34 rows / 10x10 cm
Gauge is slightly denser than yarn recommendation. Target is to avoid transparent result, since dress should be able to wear also without undershirt.

Yarn

Duo by Sandnes Garn, 55% Merino, 45% Cotton, DK, 124m / 50g
Alternative yarn: any DK weight yarn (~124m/50g). Note, that you might use dress with direct skin contact. Merino/cotton yarn was selected, since both fibers are comfortable to bare skin and cotton reduces the stretching of the length.

Suggested needle size and length

Needles 3.5 mm / US 4 for body and sleeves - Or any other needle size to meet the gauge in stockinette stitch.
Circular needles length 80cm / 32” for yoke and hem. Needles suitable for working small circumferences in the round for sleeves and neckline.
Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.

8 stitch markers, tapestry needle, crochet hook, extra yarn (or circular needles) for sleeve sts waiting for knitting.
