Leprechaun in the Hood
My 2016 entry for the Super Sock Scarefest is based on one of the WORST horror movies I’ve ever had the misfortune to watch…Leprechaun in the Hood! The sock features a shamrock motif on the sole (representing the Leprechaun), and a paisley motif similar to that found on a bandana (representing the hood). There are two sizes and the pattern provides instructions for both mid-calf and knee-high versions.
The pattern is written for the two circular needle method but can be easily adjusted for magic loop or double-pointed needles. A link is provided below, as well as in the pattern, to help with the construction of an afterthought heel.
Yardage requirements:
- for mid-calf length, approx 200 yds each of MC and CC
- for knee-high, approx 400 yds each of MC and CC
To knit this pattern, you should be familiar with:
- Following a chart
- Basic sock construction
- Stranding and colorwork

Once again, my computer refused to create a single PDF and continues to separate the pattern into two different PDF’s, one listing the requirements and the other with the pattern. As such, please be sure to download both sections of the pattern.
