Les Feuilles de Printemps
This pattern was created for Echeveau Solidaire, a monthly challenge aiming to raise money for the organization MASFD to help with research on Fibrous Dysplasia. Fibrous Dysplasia is a rare genetic disorder without any treatment, due to a lack of research. This disease induce severe and chronic pain, deformity and an extreme fragility of bones that could lead to disabilities.
All sales made on this pattern will go directly towards Echeveau Solidaire and Fibrous Dysplasia research. To learn more about this challenge, click here.
Les Feuilles de Printemps (French for “The Leaves of Spring”) is a bottom-up hat featuring leaf-lace and garter stitches. This pattern is a remix of my shawl design “Then Comes Spring”.
While Autumn is my favorite season, Spring comes in a close second. Spring, symbolizing renewal, joy, and hope certainly evokes the same feelings within me after a long, cold winter. This hat starts with a squishy garter stitch border, then a leaf lace stitch finishing with a flower-like crown.
But maybe this hat is more than a physical representation of Spring. Perhaps it can also serve as a reminder that after the deep winters of our lives, like the seasons of the planet, then comes Spring.
