Lesson in Stitches is a cowl worked in various colours and patterns.

The cowl is easy and fun to knit, and gives you a fine opportunity to practice your knitting skills on different patterns. The colours and patterns keep changing all the way from bottom to top, and the work never gets boring along the way from start to finish.

I have used Unicorn Tails for the stripes, but you can just as well use, what you have in your stash and add your own personal touch of colours to the cowl.

Finished measurements:
circumference: 66 cm / 26 inches
length: 48 cm / 19 inches

Yarn:
The sample was knit using (as main colour) Madeline Tosh Merino Light (384 m/100 g) in colour Birch Grey 1 skein / 384 m/100 g, and (as contrast colour) Madeline Tosh Unicorn Tails in colour Antique Lace, Charcoal, Coquette, Dirty Panther, Dust Bowl, Onyx, Rain Water and Whiskey Barrel, about 150 m in all.

Gauge:
24 sts and 34 rounds = 10 cm in stocking stich.
Needle size 3.5 mm.
