In this pattern the stripes are created using the star stitch. Each stripe is worked from a base row and then joined together in one piece with a finishing row. The star is worked in sections and then joined together, with the stripes added on during the final edging round.

For this pattern I used Aunt Lydia’s Classic 10 crochet thread: 1 ball color #001 / White; 1 ball color #494 / Victory Red; and about 50 yards color #487 / Royal Blue.
