Let's Go Rudolph!
Santa is rushing home with a team of reindeer (headed by Rudolph of course!) and towing a Christmas tree behind the sleigh. This decoration is strung onto clear fishing line, so when hanging against a wall it will appear to be flying through the sky.
Designed by Amanda Berry @fluffandfuzz, the toys are knitted in acrylic DK yarns on single pointed needles (not in the round), and a few pieces are i-cord worked on two DPNs. The characters are all knitted predominantly in stockinette stitch, with increases and decreases plus short rows for shaping.
NEEDLES
A pair each of 3.5mm single pointed knitting needles and DPNs (US 4).
RECOMMENDED YARN
Sirdar Hayfield Bonus DK; double knitting/light worsted weight; 100% acrylic; less than a 100g/280m skein in each colour.
NOTIONS
Tapestry needle, toy filling, buttons and beads to decorate, and fishing line to suspend the decorations.
SIZES
One size only - The sleigh is 9cm wide x 8cm tall, the tree is 8cm tall, and each reindeer 9.5cm wide x 10cm tall.
TECHNIQUES
For confident beginners and above, other techniques used include casting on and off, knits, purls, increases and decreases, and seaming to finish.
