This is a quick project and a great way to practice intarsia colourwork.

This beanie is knit from the bottom up and is worked flat and seamed together at the end using mattress stitch.

The brim is knit in 1x1 (k1, p1) rib. Intarsia method is used for the letter in stockinette stitch.

Decreases are made using k2tog for the crown before being closed.

This pattern is worked with DK yarn knitted at a gauge of 22 stitches and 28 rows = 10cm / 4 in squared.

Note: It is more important to get the stitch gauge correct rather than rows as this pattern will tell you the length to knit to.
The yarn balls listed below are based on yarn with 120 metres/131 yards per 50g ball.

Main Colour: 2 (2, 2) balls or 137 (162, 171) metres/ 150 (177, 187) yards.
Contrast Colour: one ball or 53 metres/58 yards.

If your chosen yarn has lesser yardage, you will need to purchase more balls of yarn. The beanies pictured were knit with Rico Essentials Merino (DK).
