Letterkenny scarf
This scarf is worked sideways, using short rows to form a long thin wedge-shaped triangle. Worked in light fingering weight yarn, it will yield a scarf close to 7 feet long (when worked to pattern tension) with lots of wrapping potential!
Ideal for using up leftovers from other projects, use toning colours for a classic look, or go wild with a different colour for every stripe!
The shaping is formed using simple short rows and the garter stitch makes for a pattern which is quick and easy to learn for a relaxing knit.
You will need:
3.25mm (US 3) needles (for working flat but long enough to accommodate a large number of stitches)
200 yards (183m) light fingering weight yarn in colour A (shown as charcoal in sample) – “Yarn A”
560 yards (512m) light fingering weight yarn in colour B (shown as blue/pink multi) – “Yarn B”
340 yards (311m) light fingering weight yarn in colour C (shown as blue) – “Yarn C”
You need to be able to: work garter stitch, work short rows (no wraps or fancy lifting, literally just turning round and working back).
