This pattern is named after my grandma, who lived most of her 96 years in the rough climate of western Norway, always reminding us that “it is too late when your feet are cold”.

Besta Socks are designed as soft, lightweight socks, to fit into normal shoes and boots. They have a reinforced heel construction. The simple, easy-to-memorize cable pattern gives them a good, elastic fit, and just the little extra appearance to make a nice gift.

The pattern is calculated for ladies S/M and M/L foot circumference. With different choices of yarn and needles they may be made in a whole range of sizes. For a pair in my shoe size 38 (US 7) I used 48g of light fingering yarn. In light sporting weight yarn(150m/50g) with a bit longer legs, I used 85g.
