Jan Socks are inspired by the Selbu Tradition, each sock featuring a string of the classical rose motif down the front of the leg and top of the foot. I have seen the prototype pair used for hiking, for chilly days in home office, and for putting on immediately when returning home with cold feet.

The pattern can be adapted to different size feet by adjusting the placement of the heel.

For the prototype pairs I used 115g Silja and 108g Sisu, respectively. Two skeins of main colour and one skein of contrast colour is plenty.

The pattern has been updated to include description of an ankle sock version.
