This design is based on my popular Crochet Advent Baby Blanket design, with some added details like ribbing, straight edges, and a solid finish, to give an extra professional touch.

This pattern is designed to make a blanket using a yarn advent calendar comprised of

  • 24 or 25 X 20g mini-skeins (80m, 0.7oz/87yd) and
  • 2 X 100g/400m skein (3.5oz/437yd), all in fingering weight/4ply yarn. Optionally, if you only have 1 X 100g/400m skein, you can omit the ribbed border. Instructions for how to omit the ribbed border are provided.

The photographed example is made using the Vicki Brown Designs ombré fade club from February 2024 – June 2024, paired with 1 undyed skein of Knit Picks Felici Bare. This pattern would also work using mini-skeins of scrap yarn and a contrasting main skein.

After the border and initial set-up rows, there are only 2 rows to memorise in this pattern, making it the perfect relaxing project for a busy time of year!

The finished dimensions of the blanket will be approximately 90cm X 90cm (35.5in X 35.5in), making it an ideal baby blanket, pet blanket, lap blanket, or a decorative throw.

This pattern is suitable for an intermediate crocheter or confident beginner. Photos and a chart are included in the pattern for additional support. This pattern is available in US and UK versions. The pattern uses the following stitches:
