Faith and Begorrah! Did ya ever see such a leprechaun? Liam the Leprechaun may not share his pot of gold with you, but he’ll certainly share his smiles with you.
Liam is 6” tall, crocheted from two strands of punch thread held together (available from www.tedsfromthreads.com). He’s 5-way jointed, with a cotter pin and disk jointed head, and thread jointed arms and legs. His pants, jacket, and hat are removable.
The pattern has 22 pages of instruction and photos, including color photos of the finished doll, list of abbreviations, and internet sources for supplies. It also tells you how to create Liam’s features and joint his head and limbs.
Materials and Supplies Needed:
- Punch Thread (Cameo or DeeLite): Flesh or desired skin color, dark green, billiard green, gold, black or med brown, flaming orange, pumpkin, white – 2 spools of each color
- Crochet Hook Size 7 (1.5mm)
- Polyester Fiberfill Stuffing
- Two ½“ (1.2cm) joint disks and one 1” (2.5cm) cotter pin for head joint
- Upholstery thread and five inch (12.5cm) doll needle for jointing limbs
- Two 5 mm eyes – green or black
- Sewing Thread to match buttons
- Red Embroidery Floss for mouth.
- 5-inch doll needle, large blunt tapestry, 2.5-inch milliner’s, sewing needle
- Hemostat and tweezers for stuffin
- Small sharp scissors
- Mohair finger brush or stiff toothbrush for brushing up “hair”
- Micron Pigma pen, 0.25mm – brown
- Watercolor pencils such as Prismacolor – pink (Or makeup blush -pink)
- Five 1/8” (4 mm) buttons – green
- Two 7/16” (11mm) doll buckles – (Optional) (Dritz 4087 used for model)
- 6” (15cm) green ribbon (Optional) – 1/8” (3mm wide)
