i was captivated by the color of this yarn…it looked so like the Lady of the Harbor to me. the short row edge is intended to evoke the lines of her diadem.

since completion of this shawl, i have discovered that Madelinetosh has discontinued the colorway “Burnished”. however, “Filigree” or “Jasper” may be an agreeable substitute

i designed Liberty for Monarch Knitting in Pacific Grove, CA, and with Madelinetosh ToshSock in mind, but it would be absolutely lovely in many, many other fingering weight yarns.
