The “First Flower of the Year Square” is used for the Lido Shorts. 6 large squares, simple joining method.

This square is used also in my Florence Granny-Lace Dress, and in the Flower Power Hippie Sandals.

TIP: For over-sized shorts, work next size. The white shorts on photos, are size M on my size S dress-form.

Yarn:
Fingering/1 /group A/ 3 ply. Mercerized 100 % cotton.
Weight/length per skein, and WPI, is given in pattern for each size.

Hook:
2,5 mm (C/2) - 3 mm (C/3) or 3,5 mm (E/4), depending on size.

Sizes:
Small: US 6-8 - EU: 34-36 - UK/AU: 8-10
Medium: US 8-10 - EU 38-40 - UK/AU: 10-12
Large: US 10-12 - EU 40-42 - UK/AU: 12-14

Finished measures for shorts:

Size S (Orange sample):
Finished hip-circumference: 96 cm (38”)

Size M (White sample):
Finished hip-circumference: 102 cm (40“)

Size L:
Finished hip-circumference: 111 cm (44“)
