Little Master

The Little Master:

Made using Chunky/bulky/#5 weight yarn. (Paintbox 280g)
Crochet Hook 4.5mm (US 7)
2mm alluminium wire
Glue
Blush
Blunt needle for sewing ears
2 x 30mm brown safety eyes
Long sharp needle for attaching head/body

The Jacket:

Made using DK/#3 weight yarn (softfun 140g/Sirdar snowflake 35g)
Crochet Hook 4mm (US G/6)
4 x 18mm snap fasteners/press studs
needle for weaving in ends

Creating this pattern has been a labour of love, I have been working on this little alien for about 18 months on and off. My main priority was to keep him cute (I hope I achieved that). I wanted to add shape to the face without sculpting and do as little sewing as possible! I couldn’t totally avoid the sewing but managed to keep it just to the ears and eyebrows. On the jacket the only sewing is for the snap fasteners.

I have inserted 2mm wire into the legs and arms, which go up through the body and into the neck to give him some posability but you can make him without a wire frame if you prefer.

The body and head are made seperately. The body is made with a long neck stump which is inserted into a cavity in the head, this means that you can move the head left and right and tilt it to look up or down.

This is an intermediate pattern and parts of it can be a bit fiddly, although I have included loads of pictures/diagrams to aid the instructions and let you check that you are progressing correctly.
